The only DOP cheese of Friuli Venezia Giulia, takes its name from Monte Montasio. Naturally lactose-free, highly prized for its versatility, it can be safely used inside a cutting board or in the kitchen because it goes very easily. In a skilful mix of its seasonings, it is the ingredient main dish of the Friulian regional dish: frico. In the medium seasoning that goes from 4 to 10 months, its structure remains still elastic, the aromas are those of cooked milk, with notes of butter, the flavor is sweet, of medium intensity. Recommended in a salami and cheese plate.
